BASES TO PRESENT/DISPLAY FREE SUBJECTS AND POSTERS
The
III INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON AUGMENTATIVE AND
ALTERNATIVE COMMUNICATION - LATIN AMERICA
welcomes all articles contributing to the
development of the knowledge of subjects related
to augmentative and alternative communication,
inclusion, upheavals of the communication and
other related subjects.
Any professional, institution or organization can
present/display works or articles he created on
the subjects above proposed, to be presented/displayed
in oral form or to be exhibited in poster form
during the Conference.
-
The
organizations or institutions should have at
least one person (relator). Those coming in a
non-institutional capacity, but rather on their
own private decision shall not come in a
4-member-team/authors or less.
-
The articles
can be unpublished or not. Those that have been
previously published, even in electronic form,
will have to mention in what medium they were
published.
-
The Conference
will have the authority to publish those
articles and illustrations that have been
selected by the scientific committee.
-
It could be
that the Scientific Committee will ask for
additional data to the work presented/displayed
according to is each case. The authors will
provide the available data at a convenient time.
-
All the
subjects that include videos or photographies of
people must include a declaration of consent of
the patients or its proxies, as well as of the
institution where they are treated, according to
the circumstances.
-
The works must
not have more than 2 years previous to the
Conference.
-
The authors are
the only people in charge of the contents of
their works. The Organization of the Conference
does not take responsibility for copying other
authors, partially or totally.
-
The proposals
will be received by order of reception from
03/01/07 to 30/04/07, provided there be space
available, for each type of presentation (oral
or poster form).
CHAPTER II. BASES FOR THE ORAL
PRESENTATION OF FREE SUBJECTS
The articles must show the
following characteristics.
-
The paper Hill
have 2 parts: The summary, and the multimedia
presentation, which will be send according to
the established chronogram.
-
In order to
present/display the summary, the
FORM N° 1
will
be filled up where they are required: title,
authors (emphasize the relator or exhibitor),
institution and locality where the work was made.
Also it will have to contain: Introduction,
Objectives, Material, Methodology, Result and
Conclusions, without exceeding 250 words, and
sent by e-mail to
vihugo81@hotmail.com, in an attached text
file in Microsoft Word XP or later versions.

The authors of
the subjects that have been selected will send
in advance their multimedia presentation; they
will be informed in time where the will have to
send it, in brown envelope (manila). The
presentation will have to be designed in
Microsoft Power Point or Macromedia Flash and
recorded in a CD.
-
Once they have
been received, the works will not be susceptible
to later changes.
-
The relator/author
will necessarily have to be enrolled in the
Conference.
-
Day and hour of
the lecture/exhibition will be established. The
duration of presentation will be of 15 minutes,
followed by 5 minutes for the discussion,
remarks and questions.
-
Each author can
present/display up to two works.
The author’s rights
The order of authors’ names
reflects only the preference of the authors. Each
author must have participated in the plan of the
work, contributed in his execution, and
participated in the writing of the article. Each
author must assume the responsibility of the
entire article.
Qualification of articles
The articles will be selected by
the scientific committee and then sent to the jury
designated by the committee for their evaluation
and acceptance. The presentation of free subjects
is not subject to contest; nevertheless to reward
the interest of the authors, the first and second
articles selected between will become creditors to
recognition and the respective certification. If
the authors were members of a private team, the
certification will be given to each one of them;
in case of institutions and organizations, it will
be given only in the name of the organization.
Criteria of qualification
The qualification will be made at
two levels. the first qualification will be
granted by a jury who will grant 50 % of the
total; the second qualification will attribute the
other 50% and will be given by the participants to
the conference who at the end of the presentation
of the free subjects will be asked to fill up a
questionnaire with a subjective scale of
qualification.
The following aspects will be taken
into account:
- Audio-visual
component
- Dissertation
- Knowledge of the subject
- Level of interest of the subject
CHAPTER III. BASES FOR THE
PRESENTATION OF POSTERS

The work will
consist of 2 parts: The summary and the
exhibition of poster.
-
In order to
present the summary, the

have to contain: Introduction, Objectives,
Material, Methodology, Result and Conclusions,
without exceeding 250 words, and sent by e-mail

Poster
characteristics
-
It must include the title of the
work and the names of the authors in clear and
easily visible letter.
- In the content the
objectives, materials, methods, results and
conclusions must be mentioned, briefly and in a
concrete way.
- Graphics, illustrations and
photographies required for the presentation, must
be sequentially distributed in relation to ítems
mentioned with their respective legend.
- Please, use
light material, or fabric, photographic paper or
paper for plotting, arranging this material in its
superior and inferior ends with rods, so that it
be possible to unfold and hang it.

Dimensions: 1,5 x 0.90 meters.

Assistants will
help for the installing and un-installing of
poster, but that will be exclusive
responsibility of the author(s). The retirement
of poster will be scheduled time by the
Organizing Committee.

The Organizing
Commission does not take responsibility for
occasional damages or losses that the posters
could undergo.
NOTE: The rights of literary
property
The Conference will automatically
obtain the permission for its publication. The
authors of the article must sign their acceptance
at the time of presenting/displaying the summary.
