On June 19th, 2004 Equip KIDS International participated in the second annual Festival of Wheels - Roll for Pledges. 

This event, organized by the Canadian Foundation for Physically Disabled Persons (CFPDP), was one event of many during a day of fun and excitement. During the Roll for Pledges, Equip KIDS supporters rolled around Queen's Park in Toronto with participants from other local disability organizations and the public in general, raising funds for our programs and for Canadian athletes with disabilities. Our team included our Board of Directors rolling in donated wheelchairs and on inline skates, as well as a few additional supporters on bikes and rollerblades. 

Following the Roll-for-Pledges was an inline skating race and wheelchair races. Both events were quite exciting. The wheelchair races were particularly exciting as they included World Class athletes burning up the pavement through downtown Toronto. 

We invite you to come out and participate in next year's Festival of Wheels. It was great fun and a wonderful family event. Check it out below and consider participating next year.

Following the Roll for Pledges the crowd gathers to hear announcements and enjoy entertainment as they wait for the day's races to begin.

Unfortunately, our only digital camera died shortly after we finished the Roll-for-Pledges, so we were unable to get photos of the races. There should be be some photos of the races posted on www.rollingrampage.com/pics.php shortly, however. And they should be well worth checking out!
