Dear
friends
and
members,
I’m
writing
to
let
you
know
about
an
exciting
event
coming
up
on
the
EKI
calendar.
On
June
19th,
we
will
be
participating
in
the
second
annual
Festival
of
Wheels
at
Queen’s
Park
in
Toronto.
This
is
an
all
day
event
including
the
Rolling
Rampage
–
Canada’s
premier
wheelchair
race
and
the
Roll
for
Pledges,
where
EKI
volunteers
and
friends
will
be
wheeling
around
Queen’s
Park
to
raise
funds
for
our
programs
in
Peru.
You
can
participate
in
this
exciting
event
in
two
ways.
If
you
live
in
the
Toronto
area,
I
invite
you
to
come
down
and
participate
in
the
Roll
for
Pledges
yourself.
You
can
use
anything
on
wheels
(including
bicycles,
rollerblades,
skateboards
and
wheelchairs)
to
circle
Queen’s
Park
for
one
hour.
You
will
collect
pledges
from
friends,
co-workers
and
family
to
support
you
and
you
will
be
raising
awareness
about
disability
issues
in
addition
to
funds
for
Equip
KIDS
International.
Please
email
me
ASAP
if
you
are
interested
in
participating
as
a
“wheeler”
in
this
exciting
event.
And,
while
the
Roll
for
Pledges
will
only
last
one
hour,
consider
bringing
your
families
and
friends
and
making
a
day
of
it,
as
there
will
be
food,
entertainment,
games
and
of
course
the
premier
event,
The
Rolling
Rampage,
where
North
America’s
best
wheelchair
athletes
will
hit
the
concrete
to
battle
it
out
for
over
$30
000
in
prize
money.
If
you
do
not
live
in
the
Toronto
area
(or
are
otherwise
unable
to
wheel
on
the
19th),
but
would
like
to
get
involved
and
support
Equip
KIDS
in
this
important
effort,
you
can
sponsor
yours
truly!
That’s
right,
I
will
be
wheeling
away
on
the
19th
(probably
in
a
wheelchair),
and
I
am
looking
for
people
to
sponsor
me.
Com’
on,
help
me
out…
I
need
to
get
big
time
pledges
for
this
event
or
I
will
be
quite
embarrassed!
Of
course,
you
know
the
funds
will
go
to
a
wonderful
cause,
and
all
pledges
over
$20
will
receive
an
income-tax
receipt.
Simply
email
me
your
name,
address
and
how
much
you
would
like
to
pledge,
and
I
will
add
you
to
my
pledge
form.
And,
I
promise
to
send
you
pictures
of
my
wincing
face
wheeling
yet
another
lap
of
the
course
when
it’s
all
over.

Wheels

program,

And
lastly,
for
those
of
you
who
have
not
yet
seen
it,
I
am
including
a
copy
of
an
article
about
Equip
KIDS
that
recently
made
front
page
news
in
our
local
paper.
If
any
of
you
are
in
doubt
or
are
not
familiar
with
our
work,
it
will
give
you
some
background
as
to
what
we
do
and
why.
Thanks
once
again
for
your
support.
Without
it,
many
children
wouldn’t
be
here
and
wouldn’t
have
many
opportunities
in
life.
Take
care
and
come
out
and
join
us
on
the
19th!
Sincerely,
Founder
and
Executive
Director
